The 1AM frame is the entry point of the GAST AM range. At 10,000 rpm free speed and 0.31 kW it is built for small rotary tools, mixers and spindles where a fast, compact, spark-free drive is needed. Speed and output are set simply by throttling or regulating the supply air, so the motor can be stalled or overloaded for long periods without damage.

In the GAST model code, the first letter of the middle block gives the mounting style (N = standard hub/face type for imperial units, F = foot, A = metric IEC flange), the next letters give the rotation (RV = reversible, CC = counter-clockwise only, CW = clockwise only) and the trailing number is the specific shaft, port and vane configuration. The -39A is a hub-mounted, reversible, 4-vane lubricated version; GAST's LL / NLP suffixes identify versions that can run lube-free.
