Engineering Solutions

Gas shock absorbers are filled with pressurised nitrogen to prevent the oil from foaming. Generating nitrogen on site instead of buying cylinders lowers cost and keeps filling pressure and purity constant. For hydraulic oil filling and transfer we provide precise, repeatable flow with gear and dosing pumps.

Shock absorber lines combine two quite different tasks: charging each damper body with dry nitrogen at a defined pressure, and filling it with an exact volume of hydraulic oil. Variations in gas purity, moisture or filling pressure show up directly as inconsistent damping. An on-site nitrogen generator with upstream dryers and filters supplies gas of stable quality, while mobile cylinder filling systems cover pressurisation away from the main line. For a proposal, send us the required nitrogen purity and filling pressure, gas consumption per shift, oil type and the number of units filled per hour.

Frequently asked questions

What nitrogen purity is needed for filling gas shock absorbers?

Most damper manufacturers specify a purity between 99.5% and 99.99%, with a low dew point to keep moisture out of the oil chamber. The exact value is set by your product specification; we size the generator and dryer to match it rather than over-specifying purity, which increases energy use.

Can a nitrogen generator reach the filling pressure directly?

A PSA generator typically delivers nitrogen at 6–8 bar. Where filling pressures are higher, a booster compressor and buffer storage are added after the generator. Tell us the maximum charging pressure and the peak demand per minute so the booster and receiver can be sized correctly.
