Engineering Solutions

Aeration accounts for the largest share of a plant's energy use in biological treatment; turbo and air-bearing blowers cut this consumption significantly. We supply dosing and peristaltic pumps for coagulant, flocculant and pH chemicals, and mono (progressive cavity) pumps for thick sludge.

Treatment plants run around the clock, so the main cost drivers are aeration energy, chemical consumption and the wear on pumps handling sludge. Turbo blowers supply the biological basins with air at lower specific energy than older positive-displacement units. Dosing and peristaltic pumps meter coagulant, flocculant and pH chemicals in proportion to flow, and mono pumps move thickened sludge without shearing the flocs. Pump spare parts and sealing elements keep existing units running between overhauls. To receive a proposal, share the air demand and basin depth, chemical types and dosing rates, sludge dry-solids content and the required flow and head.

Frequently asked questions

When is a turbo blower a better choice than a roots blower for aeration?

Turbo blowers are most efficient at larger, fairly steady air flows and can be turned down with speed control. Roots blowers suit smaller plants or strongly varying back pressure. Basin depth, diffuser type and the daily air demand profile determine which technology gives the lower energy cost.

Which pump should I use to dose ferric chloride or polymer?

Diaphragm dosing pumps with PVDF or PTFE wetted parts handle corrosive coagulants such as ferric chloride well. Viscous polymer solutions are often better served by peristaltic or progressive cavity pumps, which dose gently without degrading the polymer chains. Concentration and viscosity decide the final choice.
