In electronic board production, a nitrogen atmosphere in reflow and wave soldering ovens prevents oxidation, improves solder quality and lowers defect rates. With on-site nitrogen generators you can set purity as needed, and use clean pumps and diaphragm valves on chemical and ultra-pure water lines.

Fine-pitch components and lead-free alloys leave little margin in soldering: oxidation of pads and solder causes poor wetting, voids and bridging. Feeding reflow and wave soldering ovens with nitrogen from an on-site generator, with residual oxygen set to the process, improves joint quality, and the same gas can supply dry storage cabinets for moisture-sensitive parts. On wet process lines, thermoplastic acid pumps and high-purity valves handle etching and plating chemicals and ultra-pure water without contaminating them. For a proposal, send oven type and number, required residual oxygen, chemicals with concentrations and temperatures, and flows.

Frequently asked questions

What residual oxygen level is typical for nitrogen reflow soldering?

Many lines run between 500 and 1,000 ppm residual oxygen; demanding assemblies may require 100 ppm or lower. Lower values improve wetting but raise nitrogen consumption. Your oven manufacturer’s consumption data and the quality target let us size a generator for the purity you actually need.

Which pump materials suit etching and plating chemicals?

Thermoplastic pumps in PP or PVDF resist most acids and alkalis used in etching and plating, and magnetic-drive designs avoid shaft seals that could leak. PVDF is preferred for higher temperatures and stronger oxidisers. Chemical, concentration and temperature determine the material choice.
