Engineering Solutions
Aircraft tyres, landing gear shock struts and hydraulic accumulators are filled with moisture-free, non-combustible nitrogen. On-site nitrogen generation and mobile cylinder filling systems in hangars and maintenance areas remove cylinder logistics; for fuel and fluid transfer we provide safe pump solutions.
Maintenance organisations need dry nitrogen at the aircraft, often at pressures well above what a workshop network supplies, and they need it every shift regardless of cylinder deliveries. An on-site nitrogen generator combined with a mobile cylinder filling system produces and stores high-pressure gas for tyres, shock struts and hydraulic accumulators in the hangar or on the apron. Barrel pumps transfer hydraulic fluid, lubricants and de-icing products from drums and IBCs, and lubrication equipment supports landing gear servicing. For a proposal, send the aircraft types served, daily filling volume, maximum filling pressure and the fluids to be transferred.

Why are aircraft tyres filled with nitrogen instead of air?
Nitrogen is dry and inert, so tyre pressure varies less with the large temperature swings of a flight, there is no moisture to corrode wheel rims, and the risk of combustion inside an overheated tyre is reduced. Many aircraft manufacturers specify nitrogen in their maintenance manuals.
Can a mobile cylinder filling system reach strut and accumulator pressures?
Yes. A booster compresses generator nitrogen into high-pressure cylinders, typically up to 200 or 300 bar, which then serve as a mobile supply. The highest pressure in your maintenance manuals and the number of fills per day determine booster capacity and cylinder bank size.
