Engineering Solutions

In plastic injection plants, granule raw material is moved from silos to machines through closed pneumatic lines. In gas-assisted injection, nitrogen prevents sink marks and warping in thick-walled parts. We offer mould cooling water, thermal oil for mould heating and silo solutions for raw material storage.

Injection moulders handle many granule types and colours, and every interruption in material supply or mould temperature shows up as scrap. Dilute phase conveying moves granules and masterbatch from steel silos to dryers and machines in closed lines, keeping material clean. Nitrogen from an on-site generator, boosted to injection pressure, forms hollow channels in gas-assisted moulding, reducing sink marks and cycle times on thick sections. Thermal oil pumps heat moulds that need temperatures above what water allows. For a proposal, send material types and throughput, conveying distances, gas-injection pressure and volume per shot, and mould temperatures.

Frequently asked questions

What nitrogen pressure does gas-assisted injection moulding need?

Gas injection pressures typically range from about 50 to over 300 bar, depending on part geometry and material. A nitrogen generator supplies gas at low pressure, and a high-pressure booster with storage brings it to injection level. Shot volume and cycle time determine booster capacity.

When is thermal oil used instead of water for mould temperature control?

Pressurised water systems usually reach about 140–160 °C. For engineering plastics such as PEEK or some polyamides requiring higher mould temperatures, thermal oil is the practical choice, as it reaches higher temperatures at low system pressure. Required mould temperature and heating power decide the system.
